Fire & Frost: Beers, Burns and Brushstrokes at the Stoat

Join Crystal of Mosstangle Arts for a spirited winter workshop at The Stoat – Granite Falls' favorite dog-friendly bar. Create lasting memories while you immerse yourself in the art of pyrography and water color painting in this laid-back and cozy setting.

What to Expect:
In this 2-hour class, Crystal will guide you through the fascinating world of wood burning a mountain design onto an alder round. You'll learn to use a professional wood burning tool, coordinating hand movements for burn lines, shading, and texture. Dive into step-by-step guidance on designing your own landscape focusing on trees, mountains and other elements. Following the wood burning, you will learn how to add watercolor paints, transforming your creation into a vibrant, colorful masterpiece.
No drawing skills required - templates will be provided for those who prefer a little guidance.

Unleash Your Creativity:
This class is designed to be relaxed and fun -- free from the pressure of perfection. Crystal believes there are no "mistakes" in art, and encourages you to let go of worries and enjoy the tactile, meditative, and empowering nature of pyrography. Crystal will also encourage you to discover your unique "style" of wood burning, fostering your creative journey.
You'll also learn about wood burning safety, finishes, and wood art aftercare.

• All the tools you will need to create your own design, burn it into the wood and paint it
• Step by step design instruction by artist and pyrographer Crystal Bailar

About Our Instructor: Crystal Bailar
Crystal is an artist and pyrographer who teaches wood burning to empower others to be courageous and expand the boundaries of their own creativity. She firmly believes that adventure is a mindset that can be cultivated whenever and wherever you are. She has been hiking all over the west coast and Alaska since she was a small child, and brings her love for the outdoors to her art.
Whether backpacking in the mountains or just sitting quietly in a canoe, she finds great beauty and adventure everywhere she goes. She lives in Snohomish Washington where she works part time as a nurse at a local clinic and is often found wandering the local trails.

About The Stoat:
The Stoat isn't just a bar; it's a local gem in Granite Falls where furry friends are always welcome, and the drinks flow freely. With a delightful selection of beers and kombucha, The Stoat provides a warm and inviting atmosphere, making it the perfect backdrop for our creative gathering.
